A series of events lead Gabe into a new and fascinating life filled with angels and demons, but he isn't sure if he wants to be a part of it.
Gabe is thrust into the middle of this exciting world that is full of things he has longed for in his life but it comes with a price. This new life also promises constant terrifying dangers that Gabe fears he may not be able to survive.

Review:
Sacred Bloodlines will grab you in from the first page and keep you from sleeping and eating till the very last page; even then you wont be satisfied till you get your hands on the next installment. From the beginning it was action packed, never a single dull moment. I had never read a book about guardian angels so this story was very unique and interested me from the get go. It is filled with the magic of Harry Potter but with its own originality. One of my favorite characters was Sophie, her cute, straight forward personality enlightened me. I liked the main character Gabe as well, his tragic childhood gave him a soft, sensitive side. He really grows throughout the book all the while fighting the forces of evil that walk among the Earth. This book is not predictable, which I loved, I was continuously surprised. Although some areas seemed to be a bit rushed I still really enjoyed it. I stayed up till the wee hours of the morning just to finish. I definitely recommend you to read it, if you like The Mortal Instruments, then you will LOVE Sacred Bloodlines. Go get a copy today! Trust me, you'll never put it down.

Rating: 4.5/5 Stars

Interview With Wendy Owens:

When did you know you wanted to become a writer?

I have enjoyed writing since I was a little kid and always dreamed of making it a career one day.  My creative writing professor in college always encouraged me to give it a try, but it seemed like an impossible path.  For many years I was self employed as a freelance artist, but I always told my husband that if I could do anything in the world, I would be a writer.  In 2011 he forwarded me an article about Amanda Hocking with a little note encouraging me to follow my dreams.  I put my art business on vacation mode and jumped in with the full support of my family.  I wrote my first book in two weeks.  Now editing... that’s another story, it took me four additional months to get the book to a place where I was ready to release it.

Advice for future writers?

My biggest piece of advice is sometimes the hardest. My advice would be simply to write. Often we get our first book written and can be so distracted by all of the marketing we forget to keep writing. We are responsible for our own deadlines since we are owner of all the jobs. Be sure to keep setting new ones.

How did the idea for Sacred Bloodlines come to you?

I kept having this scene pop into my head where a pregnant woman was being hunted by a demon and a guardian angel saved her.  None of those characters made it into the actual series, but it planted the idea of guardian angels in my thoughts.  I wrote it down and then walked away.  When I came back and read it months later, the idea morphed into something completely different.  At that point it was like a freight train picking up steam.  Once I made the decision to give writing a try I released the flood gates on the idea and it all poured out of me.  I have never read a book about angels so I was surprised by the subject matter myself, but there it was.

What character from Sacred Bloodlines can you most relate to?

Dina is the girl I relate most to. I like to fix problems and

What do you like to do when your not writing?

My kids and husband take up a lot of my time and the lights of my life. When I’m not with them though I paint and draw or photograph.

What's your favorite movie?

Okay, totally revealing my geeky side. The new Star Trek movie is my favorite and the second one, Into Darkness is a close second. The character development in them is brilliant and any movie that can make me cry in the first five minutes is simply amazing.

Which character from Sacred Bloodlines do you like best?

Uri has always held a special place in my heart.  His snarky sense of humor makes me smile and he is my kind of handsome.  The grittier the better for me when it comes to sex appeal and Uri is dripping with it.  I love him so much I decided to add book four, The Lost Years, into the series.  It explores what happened to him and the other Guardians during a five year gap between book two and three.

What's your soundtrack for Sacred Bloodlines? (What songs do you think best fit for the book?)

Requiem for a Dream soundtrack.

17 Problems Only Book Lovers Will Understand

So I found this list off of Buzz Feed Community and I have to say I pretty much could relate to everything listed on it.

1. When someone asks you what your favorite book is and expects you to pick just one.

2. When someone interrupts you reading.

3. Because, really, a book is basically a Do-Not-Disturb Sign.

4. When a movie version of the book gets everything wrong (I can think of a few movies...)

 4. And completely ruins your mental images of characters.

5. When someone you like tells you they don’t like to read.

6. When you forget to eat or sleep because a book is so good.

7. When your favorite character dies.

And you pretend they’re still alive but it’s just not the same.

8. When a book you love gets a harsh review.

9. When an author stops writing mid-series.

10. When someone spoils the ending of a book.

Or worse, the ending of an entire series.

11. When you walk into a bookstore.

12. When you lend someone a book and get it back in terrible condition.

13. Or never get it back at all.

14. When you finish a book and have to wait a year for the sequel. (This is 100% me)

15. When a book makes you cry hysterically in public and everyone thinks you’re crazy.

16. When no one gets your "dam" ;) obscure literary reference.

17. When someone says you read too much.

Because you know there’s no such thing as too many books.

I added a few words or so into some of the problems (my Percy Jackson reference). But I have to say a lot of these are really accurate. Tell me what you think in the comments below! :)

Sea of Monsters Early Screeningreally

Okay so today (or yesterday considering its 1AM.) I saw the early premiere of The Sea of Monsters. I wore my Camp Half Blood Shirt (curtsey of Fox Productions on giving me a free shirt).  Let me just say, I loved it! Compared to the books, it was eh. But personally, I would go see it again.  I probably will considering my little brother wants to see it. Now if you are reading this and do not want to be spoiled, I advise you to stop reading.

SPOILERS
I wont talk about every single scene, cause lets face it, its 1 in the morning and I don't even know how I'm staying awake (must be all the sugar and candy and pop).

The beginning of the movie started with the flashback. Personally it irked me that the characters were so close in age, especially Grover and Luke, and Thalia. Nevertheless it was still exciting to see Thalia's sacrifice. It seemed to be a little rushed although and ended really fast.

The scene then changes to a battle competition (which the movie released a sneak peak clip of it). I love how Percy still shows his fatal flaw and rushes to help a fellow camper. It warmed my heart to see him like that. Clarisse was, as always, the vicious girl we all know and love.
through the movie Percy constantly beats himself up about not being good enough and putting himself down. I really wanted to go up and give Logan a big hug and just let him know about all his fan girls.

Lets talk about Tyson, okay so Douglas Smith was an A+ Tyson. He is so cute and cuddly, and had the best humor. I adored his positive attitude and his cute sense of humor. When he comes into the camp, and Percy sees him, his face is priceless.

Alexandra Daddario, I think we can all agree looks and acts more like Annabeth in this film than the first. Not only is her hair blonde, but her emotion in her acting is spot on. I wanted to cry when she saw Thalia's dying tree. I love how we get to see more of Alexandra's characters emotions and get a real feel of Annabeth.

Jake Abel. I literally love him. He is such a great Luke. And very, very, very handsome. (Too bad he's engaged.) I wish we could have seen a little more of him in the movie, but nevertheless he put on a great performance.

Grey Damon as Chris Rodrigues! Grey was super handsome in the movie and showed his sword skills. Skills you don't get to see on the ABC Family show Twisted. I can't wait when he and Clarisse get together.

Thalia, she is one of my favorite characters of all time in this fandom. To me, she has the saddest backstory and life. Even though they pronounce her name wrong in the movie (Rick tweeted the correct way to say her name), I still was happy how my favorite character turned out. I never imagined her body being able to be seen even when she was a tree. It was kind of creepy but made the movie come alive. My heart was beating towards the end, just waiting for her to revive. Soon enough, Grover calls Percy and they rush, along with all the other campers to her Tree. There she is, and when Percy touches her, Thalia's bright Blue eyes open. Paloma Kwiatkowski, I think will make a great Thalia in future movies. Even though we didn't see a whole lot of her as Thalia, I have very high hopes that my favorite character will be played by a great actress. She brought her to life, and acted as if she really just came out of a deep sleep, stumbling, trying to clear her eyes (unless that was Paloma trying to see without prescription contacts;)). It was overall a great performance.

When Tyson risks his life for Percy, and "Dies". I wanted to cry. Especially because with his last words he said "You would do it for me," and falls off the edge into the water (which obviously heals him). It was such a sad and touching moment.

When Percy hugs Tyson, after seeing him, and calling him brother. I'm sorry but I just wanted to cry it was so heartwarming. Tyson reminds me sort of my brother (except mine has two eyes), funny, positive, and all about family. This made me want to hug my brother and tell him I am sorry for every single fight we ever had.

Dionysus is hilarious. I loved him. The actor, the comedy, the overall performance was wonderful.

Chiron I love much better than the first movie. This time around he is much more wise, and just seems more, Chiron like, I guess. He has that old, wise, immortal look about him.

Brandon, T. Jackson is a fantastic Grover. I know lots of people didn't like how they had him African American, but personally, I like him a lot. He's quirky, funny, and a comic relief. I just loved how when he finally revealed himself to the Cyclops, ripping off his dress and googly eye. He's such a cutie.

When Annabeth got stabbed, personally, I didn't enjoy that they went out of the book, but I liked the emotion in the scene. How she "died," and that sweet Percabeth moment when Percy was telling her have faith (or hope, sorry I forget, its almost two AM my time,). Logan's face when Annabeth closed her eyes were so sad. No, sad is an understatement. There is no word that could describe his face. Even though it wasn't from the books, it was still a sweet Percabeth scene. Although it seemed kinda random for her to all of the sudden get stabbed, but whatever floats the writers boats...

Okay so I fangirled when Annabeth said "Oh my Gods," Cause I felt like the book came alive, and the writers finally put something right in there. Also when Clarisse says "What the Hades are you doing?!" I screamed inside because, yet another, book related saying flew from the pages and into the film gracefully.

CAMP HALF BLOOD SHIRTS! Okay so not every single camper was wearing a shirt. It okay, it would take a lot of money from the budget to supply every extra with a shirt. But at least some of the campers had them!! Which is better than none. I was happy to at least see some orange Tees around in the crowd.

THINGS THAT BOTHERED ME:
I know its just a movie adaption, and nobody's perfect... but these details I just did not agree with.

The pronunciation of Thalia. Its pronounced Thah-Lee-Ah, not Tal-E-A.

Silena Beauregard is already shown as a traitor. She should be at Camp, flirting with Charles, and just living a normal life. Not with Luke, showing the gang she already changed sides.

Kronos. Okay this was a big thing. When he managed to come back to life, well halfway, I almost groaned out loud. Seriously? And Percy just easily defeats him... Like it was just another monster. Sure they stopped him in the end but it just bugged me that he was in the movie in the first place. I could be wrong, I read the Sea of Monsters about four years ago so maybe I'm forgetting something. But I'm sure Kronos didn't have a show down with the son of Poseidon.

No Percy guinea pig. Enough Said.

Ages of the characters in flashbacks.

How Luke said he had to go to the depths of Tartarus to get the coffin of kronos. No. No. Its just simply not that easy to do. I mean Nico barely survived... and Percy and Annabeth are down there now. You cant just go in an out like In N Out Burger. Its just impossible. I literally almost laughed when Luke said that. In my head I was mumbling protests.

There is probably a lot more of things that I didn't agree with in the movie, but I don't want to be too negative.

Overall this movie is amazing, and well made. Though very rushed, it was entertaining. Compared to the books, I give it a 7/10. But standing alone, its a 9/10. Besides, nobody's perfect, and I very much enjoyed the movie. It was well worth the wait and now we all have to wait a year and a half or so till the next movie. But now we can look forward to The House of Hades!!! October is closer than you think! It's funny how I when I think of October, I don't think of Halloween, Candy, or my sisters birthday. Nope I think of The Heroes of Olympus and getting to see everyone's favorite OTP together (even if they are deep down below).

Until then, enjoy a picture of my Sea of Monsters inspired nails. Sorry they aren't professional good, I'm not that artistic. And sorry about the quality of the picture. The lighting is awful.
I also suggest if you have braces to not eat Milk Duds. They WILL get stuck in your teeth and no matter how hard you try, it will stay there for a long time. (I learned the hard way before the movie started.)
Anyways go see the movie! You'll love it!
Farewell Demigods! :)

2 Days till the Percy Jackson Fandom has a heart attack!!!!

This year is the year for movies. I definitely will be spending my time at the theatre especially to see all the book turned movies films!
The film I'm most excited to see is Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters! I've been in love with the book series since my friends introduced me to them. I've become more obsessed with the books than my friends!
Tomorrow, my best friend and I will be going to the early premiere of the movie at ten PM, and I am very excited!
To be honest, The Lightning Thief, I thought wasn't that bad. Sure it didn't have a thing in common with the books besides the names, but if they didn't have the series to compare it to, it was a pretty entertaining movie. Luckily for us fans, the Sea of Monsters looks to be more closer to the books than the first one! I'm excited to see the new faces in the film!
Leven Rambin as Clarisse seems perfect! I imagines Clarisse to look just how she is in the movies.
Douglas Smith as Tyson is also a great match. They are both cute and funny, and Douglas brings Tyson to life! In the trailers, he seems so adorable and lovable!
Paloma Kwiatkowski as Thalia Grace, is a face I am most excited to see in the film. Thalia is my favorite character and I am excited to see her at the beginning and end of the film. Even though I am annoyed they pronounced her name wrong in the movies (oh well, nobody's perfect), I am still very thrilled to see her in the movie. Paloma seems to fit the Thalia image very well. And to be a newcomer to Hollywood and a just graduated teen, she's got to have a LOT of talent to be picked to play this part.

The trailers they have released and the exclusive clips prove to show that this movie will very much likely be a hit! I have even watched the Japanese trailers (which show some exclusive images!) and every time I get more and more excited!

Tours: I wish they would have done a movie tour more like how The Mortal Instruments movie tour was like. I never really saw any dates of where they were going until after the fact. Hopefully next time I will be able to meet the stars of the Percy Jackson Cast (My dream).

Anyways, be sure to see the movie, coming out August 7th!!! (TWO DAYS!!! I remember when it was like 145 days till the movie came out! AH!)
