The Heroes of Olympus: The Lost Hero

I remember when this first came out, I was so excited to read it and my mom practically had to pry it from my hands just so I would go to bed at a decent time.
This new series introduces us back into the Percy Jackson world.
Jason has lost his memory, he supposedly is Piper's boyfriend and Leo's best friend (so they tell him). When storm spirits join their class trip to the Grand Canyon, and their gym teacher ends up being a satyr, they know something is up. A girl Annabeth appears, looking for her boyfriend, Percy Jackson and starts claims that the gods and goddesses are real. It's not long before they are whisked to Camp Half Blood where they must take on a dangerous quest to save a not well liked goddess.

Personally I really enjoyed this book, I loved how there were three character point of views.
I won't give out any spoilers but I loved the twist behind Jason's family past. Piper I think can be annoying at times, but is a great character as well. She shows that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and shows courage and strength for her loved ones. Leo, by far, is my favorite character. He adds major comic relief to the story, although his background I think is far one of the worst out of all. He is the kind of character you can't help but just love and want to hug him when he is sad. Leo will definitely make you laugh out loud and he shows how thoughtful, and how much he will fight for the people he cares about.  Hopefully I can find my own Leo in life.

A lot of people were disappointed that Percy wasn't featured in it. I, on the other hand, think it was a nice fresh change. I loved the new characters and all the plot twists. I definitely recommend reading the series if you like action and adventure with a sprinkle of romance.
